CAC News
This is a very busy time at the
Capitol. The Legislative session will be short this
year. Please find a way to be in touch with what is
going on.
The pheasant hunting program has been SAVED !! Thank you
to all who spoke up and helped yourselves as well as
others hunters. Sportsmen helping sportsmen…fantastic!
PLEASE CONTACT YOUR LEGISLATORS!!!!!
Sunday bow hunting on private land also needs your help.
It has passed the Environment Committee with a vote of
20-9. It is now on the Senate calendar and needs emails
and phone calls to the senators and the reps to get it
passed be-fore time runs out.
Fishing season is here, whether you like it or not.
Trout have been stocked. Water levels are low. This
should be easy!
Striped bass vouchers are available again this year. If
you obtain one through DEEP or our friend Gary at CT
Outfit-ters, you can possess 2 stripers of less than 28”
when fish-ing from any state river.
Turkey season is open throughout the state. Private land
3 bearded birds. State land 2 bearded birds. Please wear
your orange while walking in and out of the woods.
If you have been outside you will notice it is VERY dry.
There is an extreme fire danger throughout the state. We
have already lost over 450 acres to careless wildfires.
Please do not burn brush or leaves. Report any smoke or
fire you see.
